Project Description

Revised safety tests required a design solution and quick implementation. The design was prototyped and tested then sent to the tooling machinist for mold modifications and subsequent manufacturing. These parts affected multiple Graco baby swings and other mating assemblies.

A few additional changes were combined in this project to have a net variable cost savings across the product line while still addressing the safety test revisions.

The main change related to the snap-fit concept for the swing mobile. This had to address the more strenuous safety pull tests and be user-friendly for parents to assemble. The part also had to have an integrated keyway for a specialty attachment to function properly. The updated snap-fit assembly is shown below:
